Landsskuet 2026 with kids: opening hours, prices and how to not lose each other

Landsskuet in Herning is Denmark's largest agricultural fair — and one of the best family days out you can have on a summer weekend. Hundreds of animals, show-ring displays, pony rides and a whole children's corner. But it's also big and crowded, and when you're there with small children, one thing matters more than anything else: not getting separated.
Here's the practical guide to Landsskuet 2026 with the kids — plus a few concrete tips for keeping the group together.

Best bits for kids
- The children's corner with activities and pony rides
- Show-ring displays — horses, cattle and jumping
- Animal barns with cattle, horses, sheep, goats, poultry and rabbits at child height
- All activities are free with admission
The honest challenge: 19,000 people and a child at hip height
It only takes a moment. You look at a cow, your child looks at a tractor, and suddenly there are three families between you. To a four-year-old, every adult seen from behind looks the same, and the grounds are huge. Most children lost at a fair are found within minutes — but those minutes feel like hours.
A few simple things make all the difference:
- Agree on a fixed meeting point with older kids — for example the main entrance at Gate 3.
- Take a photo of your child in the morning, so you have the exact outfit to show if you need help.
- Put your phone number on your child — or better, use a wristband a helper can act on right away.
A QR wristband that does the work for you
That's exactly why we built AYA Family — a small QR wristband for your child's wrist:
- Whoever finds your child scans the wristband with their phone — no app needed.
- You get an instant message with GPS location, so you know where your child is.
- Your phone number is not visible on the child — contact runs through the scan, so strangers can't simply read off a name and number.
- It's made for a day out like this: activate it in the morning with your child's name and your number, and it lasts the day.
It doesn't replace holding hands — but it's a seatbelt for the seconds when you lose sight of each other anyway.
Enjoy Landsskuet
Bring sunscreen, a stroller for the little ones, and plenty of time. Landsskuet is one of the finest family days summer has to offer — and with a fixed meeting point and a wristband on the little ones, you can spend your energy on the animals instead of counting heads every second.
Have a great day in Herning. 🐄
